they haven't said what exactly they're looking for. 13 year-old nicole disappeared on her home wednesday where police leg raising indicated her remains near route 89 on saturday. the police arrested 18 year-old david that same day and charged him with first degree murder and abduction. they arrested 19 year-old natalie yesterday charging her as an accessory. they knew each other before her disappearance. he used the relationship to his advantage to abduct her and kill her. keepers helped him dispose of nicole's body. both are being held without bail in virginia. an autopsy is scheduled for later today. >> thank you. a man charged with murder

court appearance today. police found 22 year-old roberto dead at the scene. the suspect 32 year-old valentine was later arrested. they believe they got into a fight and led to the shooting. a murder is ces new channels after assaulting guards. investigators say he hit the officer in the face several times injuring him. masters will go before a judge later this afternoon. the first vote ins the 2016 perform issue election cast tonight -- presidential election cast tonight in iowa. a tight race for both the republican and democratic sides. >> hoping to dampen donald trump's momentum, ted cruz made his final pitch to iowa voters sunday. >> if everyone here brings nine other people to the caucuses tomorrow night, we will win the

bring us showers for wednesday. today is nice and quiet. mid 60s at lunchtime. beautiful day to spend some time outside. brian's checking traffic. no real problems last time? >> no big accidents causing prones right now on ma jordan lomax routes but slow downs lingering delays but easing up a little bit. coming down from a high of about 20 minutes a little whiling ago. now down to about 16 minutes and as we mentioned as those delays come down as all that traffic moves into the south side, we're seeing more significant delays. 11 minutes. most are between 440 and south sounder street area. a delay just starting to build on 40 westbound between wade avenue and 540 but not a very significant delate at this point.

major ruths a little slow -- routes a little slow as usual. delays on 40 eastbound between 751 and fayetteville road. by the time you get to 55 change, traffic's moving along pretty well. the freeway is backs up all the way into downtown durham. consider using 55 as a good alternate route. we have an accident on 264 westbound on highway 97. those delays around highway 39 interchange extends all the way out to 97. awe low extra time. we do have some accidents as far as we can tell, none are point. we do have a significant backup on 5 had around airport $54 on airport budd. that trip out to the park, not so batted from west raleigh. back to you. it's 807.

governor's opposition mark baker. >> in terms of north carolina, it's really small. attacks. 70 since the syrian refugee crisis began. what was governor was talking act was security. what we saw when we asked for written communications from his office which we got last week, they were reacting from call ands from lawmakers we saw them circulating news reports saying we better react to this in some way. >> what kind of push back to the governor's office receive? >> it came pretty quickly right away. a group in high point saying if you want to know about resettling refugees, we can tell you about it. your information is gathering

law enforcement can't get at so there's a little bit of head to head there. the other thing that really got pointed out was what we see with the europe asylum seekers, they're not the same people who or the people who are coming here, are a very subset of those people who have been vetted for two years coming across on planesment not the same sort of situation. >> anything the governor can do to have his way in this? >> not really. when his office was forest responding that monday after that friday, the secretary of health and human services and his chief of staff says we need to lay down the law and tell the government we're not gonna take anybody here. the state really can't tell the federal government what it's going to do with refugee ands we've seen that so far. >> what do we know about these people? they have been vetted for two years? does that mean they're probably

citizens? >> well, that's the question the governor's asking. what would you do with that information, they don't have a real clear answer other than use it for security concerns. what we know is they go through the process where they're interviewed several times, they come here and resettled by a groups. takes them about 6 to 9 month locals before applying for permanent resident status and citizens. >> the governor staff told us they're going to washington for the next month for a meeting. there's a lot of interaction between the federal governors and this issue is one they feel likely will be brought up. >> very good story. look for more of his reports on wral.com at nc capital under the use drop down menu. our multimedia investive reporter.

is 825. police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian in durham. this happened on north roxborough street under the i85 bridge a little more than an hour ago. a man was hurt and taken to the hospital. no charges yet. a man charged with the death of a baby girl is in court today. he's one of the three suspects in the death of ma leah williams. he is charged with attempted murder and two other men chaned with murder. members of e state naacp in court in salem today. it'll be up to the federal judge to determine whether the id law if violates voters act. our february first is gets off to a very warm note. >> hour high yesterday was 70.

eastbound coming down the hill from harrison. a minor incident there. a lit the bit of slow down as people make their way towards wade avenue this morning. also the left lane of the southbound said of the durham freeway is blocked right now just beyond brigs avenue. a minor accident out there causing those delays. traffic getting by in that right lane as you approach that construction zone. some delays aving downtown iapex and heading towards brigs. car petrols in the ft lane at 540 westbound. -- carpet. snootily suspects want inside the next of murder in durham. now behind bars.
